Goals: Brandon Schmidt

My Goals

It is my sophomore year in high school and it feels like it is going to be a great one.  My goals are rather simple.
Academically, my goals are pretty straightforward. I want to pass all of my classes with a "B" or higher, maybe learn a few new things, read some great stuff, and get the high school experience.  I try to participate in school activities as much as possible, and I am a member of the collection of musical people known as the band.  I hope to improve even more in my music, maybe play a few more instruments, and just have fun making music with my friends. That’s pretty much it for academics. I'm the most basic you could get in that category.
As for life, my path is not yet set.  I have the intent to go to college and get a Master's degree in something; heck if I know what that will be, but a degree in something. I hope to find a good paying job that I will enjoy.  Maybe do some good in other people’s lives, you know, make a difference in this world and do it all with a smile.  But that is all in the future.  At this moment, I want to live in the now and enjoy high school.
This year, I wish to get the most out of high school.  I participate in band, I am at all the football games (go Soons!) and am ready to excel both academically and musically.  Believe me that is one hard task, but I will persevere and hope for the best this year of high school.

My Goals

It is very important to have goals for yourself. Goals are external representations of your inner desires, and they constantly remind you of what you need to accomplish. Setting goals can give you inspiration and fuel your ambition. There are multiple goals I can list for myself now and in the future. My main goal that constantly stresses me out is time management. Being in soccer inside and outside of school, participating in a choir at school, and trying to keep up with my academics is a struggle for me. Taking seven classes (one being at 6:15 in the morning), playing soccer in school and for a couple of hours in the evening is what I do daily. Although this is a struggle at times, I chose this route and I want to be in all these extracurricular activities. Anyways, time management is important for every person as long as they have control of it throughout the school year. I also want to maintain A's in my classes and keep a GPA over 3.5 throughout the rest of high school. Time management is a goal I want to have control over but if we are talking about goals for myself after high school...I want to attend and graduate from a four year university. I'm not being specific about one over another. As a result of graduating from a four year university, I would go straight to medical school. My decision could change but for the time right now I want to become a pediatrician. I want to be able to help others and say that I changed some one's life for the better. If not a pediatrician, I would like to be some type of nurse or doctor. My uncle who has passed away a few years ago was, in fact, a nurse (he worked in the E.R.). He has inspired me and I know that whatever career I choose, it is going to be involved with helping people. What could be a more perfect career for me? My family and friends always encourage me to be happy and stay kind. They only want what's best for me and I love them dearly for that. I guess you can say another goal of mine is to always make them proud.

My Goals

My Goals

Goals are very important for me so I  know what I wish to achieve in life whether it's for the long term or the short term. They help you dedicate yourself completely to something and make you ultimately realize your own imperfections within yourself that could be changed or improved upon. However, achieving goals takes work and effort, but achieving them always brings me great satisfaction and joy because they give me a sense of pride in my own accomplishments.
The short-term goals I have change on a monthly basis as more and more get added and some get removed. This year I would hope to improve my writing skills within my English class as well as improve my overall ability to read and understand complex literature in a more meaningful way than what just lies on the surface. Choosing to take AP World as a class this year, was a huge undertaking on my part and it sometimes feels like a mistake but in truth, I knew that in order to help achieve my long-term goals it had to be done, to be more competitive for prestigious universities. I want to be able to begin to enjoy the class and ultimately stop procrastinating completely even though that's probably not happening for a long time. This year I also want to get better at talking to people because I'm such an introvert who's so uncomfortable in social situations so even though I may not enjoy being forced to do presentations or sharing my ideas to the class, I hope by the end of the year I will become more comfortable with that.
My long-term goal I have known through my whole life was to follow my family and become a doctor as this has always been their dream or ideal standard that they have always set as my goal. They have always been intent on setting on a path to follow their ideals, placing me in summer school, and ensuring I always did my best educationally in order to get me in the best path possible to become a doctor. Now in high school, they still control my entire life basically ensuring I do the best I possibly could in order for me to attend a prestigious university, so it would be easier for me to get a job as soon as I finish my medical degree. My ultimate goal in life would be for me to fulfill all my family's wishes for me to become a doctor, and eventually live a fulfilled life without having to worry about living from paycheck to paycheck and being able to live with excess well into retirement. In the end, I would just want to be happy with what I have accomplished in life and not feel like I have any regrets when I do eventually leave this world.

Goals: 2018-2019

In life, it is important to set realistic, time-sensitive goals because it aids and encourages you to reach the larger goals you have. In English class this year I will expand my vocabulary, find a deeper analysis in the literature that I read, and open my mind to new opinions even if they differ from my own. Outside of English class, I plan on maintaining all A's in all my classes, scoring a five on my AP tests, and setting a new personal record in cross country. In the future, I would like to attend a university on the east coast and acquire a degree in law. I want to become a lawyer because I have always been fascinated by our justice system and would like to help as many people as possible.

My goals

It is important for people to set goals they think are important for their lives.. Goals help us see things clearly and in an organized way for our own future. The most important goal that I have had every single school year for myself is to always end the year with good grades and a good GPA. That way I have a good future, but also have things set in mind for what I want to do for myself. We can have big goals or small daily goals in life, such as, maybe wanting to learn something new for a day. Goals are set for us when we are determined to acheive them and we shouldn’t ignore them or just get past them. Even if things seem to hard to accomplish we have to work our way up there to do what we want in our lives. I like to do good in school, because I know that for my future I want to go to college and I won’t let that go, because it is what I really want for myself. I still do not know what career I want to work on, but I know that either way I have to work hard to find what it is I want to do. Although, my goal has always been to simply have good grades and a good GPA this year I want that to change. Throughout the year I want to research on careers and classes that maybe might seem interesting to me, and I would really like to find some that I might like and think about doing. That to me would be the biggest goal I have set for myself this year!

Goals

My goals for this school year is to live and enjoy the moment.  I find myself thinking about the past, something that can’t be changed, so I want to look forward and make memories that I won’t regret.  This is going to be difficult for me to accomplish since I am taking AP world.  However, I believe one class shouldn’t take over your life, and you shouldn’t stress over getting an A.  This is a main goal of mine, because I have noticed my classmates are always stressed and never have bothered to stop and look around.  Many people don’t even know their classmates names but they have memorized every king, god, or even fictional characters from novels.  Therefore, I want to experience high school, our “glory years” lost in the moment while we still have it.  For anyone that is not living high school to the fullest my question to you is: Why and what motivates you to rush so much into the real word?

My Goals

Honestly, my main goal at the moment is to get through the next four years of high school as best as I can. I want to pass all my classes with at least a "B," and to thrive in the work I do. I want to get into a very good college, get my Bachelor's Degree and my Master's (potentially even a PhD!?) and try to help the world the best I can. I want to be able to make a difference in people's lives, even if it's just one person whom I helped. It would mean everything to me to know that I was significant to even their smallest successes! I think the thing I aim for the most later on in life is to become a marine biologist.
But for now, I'm trying to improve the small things in my life. To become a better writer by bettering my plot sequencing and to finally finish a story; to better my artistic creativity; to find something I'm truly passionate about and turn it into a hobby I practice every day. Also, I strive to be able to be there for my friends and family; to give good advice and to just help them work through the struggles they face every day.
Even though some days it maybe hard for me to believe that I'll meet these goals, I do have confidence in myself that I'll cross most of my goals off my list. I also have confidence that the people who are in my life right now (and the ones who stay with me in the long run) will motivate me to reach the very things in life that will not only make me happy, but make me a better person. I trust in them to help me achieve my goals. They help me realize that if I'm not pushing my limits for myself, I should do it for the people who confide in me. That's my #1 goal: to make the people I love the most proud.

My Goals

My goals for this school year is to maintain all A's and improve more in tennis.  Last year, I managed to end my freshman year with all A's.  The feeling of finishing my first high school year excellently made both my parents and I very elated!  In order to maintain a good GPA this year I will have to work on lessening my procrastination and focus more on my studies.  I will definitely meet this goal and experience the thrill of ending another year with all A's!  To improve more in tennis, I intend to listen carefully to my coach and take his advice seriously.  So far the tennis season has been great and a blast!  This year I made it to varsity and there's been a lot of pressure.  There have been some instances where my doubles partner and I haven't played our best, and our coach has gotten quite upset.  Despite winning pretty often, I always make sure to reflect on my mistakes after games to improve my game play and not drag my teammates down.  During practice and during games, I hope that I will learn a lot from other players and bond with my team!  This is really all there is to my goals right now, but I do hope that later on in life I keep setting goals for myself and challenging myself in different ways!

2018-2019 Goals

My goal this school year is to get a 4.0 GPA or more than 3.5 GPA and for my athletics my goal is to become better than I was the day before.Sports wise,  my goals is to not compare myself to somebody that is better than me and older than me, instead I would want to be more confident in my self and not be so hard on myself because if i don't think that it is a good kill in my eyes then I am not satisfied with myself and that is when I become frustrated and start getting in my head.Academically, I want to be able to write better essays and be able to use better transition words in my writing. Also, I would love to get better at using better figurative language and knowing how to use it.Overall I want to be a better writer at writing essays. One of my main future goals is to get a volleyball scholarship to one of my top 10 universities. So far, I am pretty sure I figured out what I want to major in and what I want to be. I want to become a sports medicine physician. Manly because I want to work in the medical field and I like sports. Outside of English class I would like to be more interacted into the school and just meet new people. I heard high school goes by fast so why not make the best of it.

My Life Goals!

Goals are important because they impact and influence who we are going to be in life. Setting realistic and time-sensitive goals is crucial because they help us to accomplish our goals and work towards them everyday. These realistic goals that we can fit into our schedule can inspire us and encourage us to work hard everyday. Aspiring to have goals is a good mindset to have, because everything you do has the possibility to be a stepping stone to where you want to be in the future. My goals this year in English class are to become a better and more comprehensive reader, writer, and thinker. I want to become a faster and more focused reader, and also broaden the spectrum of books I read. I also want to learn how to write faster, more clearly and creatively. Being a good writer is an important skill to have, because it's something you'll have to do for your entire life. I want to enhance my creative writing skills because I love to write stories and would love to be a better writer. Lastly, I want to be a more comprehensive thinker in English class and everyday life.
Other academic goals I have this year are to achieve straight A's , so my gpa can be above a 4.0. I want to be successful in all my classes this year and leave with understanding of the material. Another goal I have this year is to excel in my performing arts classes. I want to be successful in Mariners and possibly attain a solo in my Color guard show. My goals in the future academically, are to have straights A's every year and have above a 4.0 every year, especially my senior year. This one of my goals for the future because receiving good grades, being above the standard, and reaching your full potential as a person has been a mindset of mine since I was a little kid. My career goals in the future are to have my own dance school or performing arts center, and to go to New York and possibly perform in at least one Broadway musical. I aspire to these career goals because I have been performing and loved dancing since I was in preschool. Music and performing have been apart of my life since I was a very young child and their importance has stayed with me through all these years. It's as if they are apart of me, and I can't live without it them. Dancing and performing are passions that I'm serious about , and I would love to turn that into my career. Overall, goals are essential because they guide us to our own path in life and encourage us to be our best selves.

My goals

My goals for this upcoming year and for me in general are to be the best version of myself. That sounds very basic and vague I know but it makes sense in my scenario. With school mostly coming easy to me I don’t try my best, I do the basic level, get a decent grade, then move on. I don’t strive for the best and my full potential, that is something I want to change within this next coming year. I want to better myself in all aspects whether it be school, family, relationships, or friendships. I want to better myself and be their for everyone that needs me, working on being more understanding and compassionate along with achieving my best in school and within the programs I’m given. I can do better, I know I can. Now the hard part is just making it to that goal, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.

My Goals

Goals are very important to my daily life. They dictate the choices I make as I strive for the goal, which ultimately drives me closer to my goals and accomplishing them. Accomplishing my goals brings me lots of satisfaction, and memories which can carry me through the harder times of life. Therefore one goal I have set for myself is to be as good of a person as I can to those around me. Since the golden rule is to treat others the way you want to be treated, hopefully others will treat me well in return. Lastly, a smaller goal I have set for myself is to increase my range on trumpet so that I can possibly be a musician later in life. This means I will play a lot higher when I reach my goal, improving my confidence when I play for others and enabling me to play more challenging pieces.

My Goals

I'm a simple person. My simple goals include getting good grades and moving onto eleventh grade, hopefully with straight A's but, simple people can also be big dreamers. Some of my goals this year are pretty achievable, such as overcoming my shyness and being able to talk to people and making new friends freely. I also strive to be a better artist, a better musician, better writer, a better person in creating arts basically. Some of my long term goals that i'm still in the rough draft on include getting a good college education, fight for the rights and equality of people, be a social justice warrior, and convince my parents that I want to be a psychologist, and some are a bit too wild for the average person, but hey, big dreams. I have met some of my goals during the summer because I was still free but now that school has started, i'll have to cram my goals in my weekend schedule between schoolwork, marching band, and responsibilities, so top goal priority right now is getting good grades.

Life goals

I hope that my goals are things I strive to accomplish everyday for the reast of my life. I want to push myself to be better then the person was the day before. I don't want to be better then someone else, but to do the best I can do. My mom promised me my first car if I get all Ad's and B's this first semester which is what she calls motivation and I call a bunch of pressure. But I don't want the car if I can't drive it on the USC campus. I want to be better for myself and that's my main goal. I want to do better in volleyball and participate in the play. Sing my little heart out in Mariners and be the leader that I can be. If I do nothing else I want to get out more. I never go to parties or dances or the mall with friends. I want to use up my high school experience with hard work and fun.

My Goals:

My Goals!!!:
In my opinion, it is important to set realistic, time-sensitive goals in life because they help us have something to motivate us and encourage us to become better people in this life. Realistic goals give us a perspective on how our future can be like if we follow through with them! My goals this year, academically speaking, are the same as last year: to end the year with good grades and a GPA in the 4.0 range. In English specifically, I would like to improve my writing and thinking skills even further than last year and to do it in the super cool new way! When it comes to long-term goals like education and careers, I would really like to set a goal to maintain good grades throughout the years left and to graduate with honors, being recognized for the efforts that I have made all throughout my high school experience. I would like to set a goal of getting into a really good college like the ones in the UC system. To top it off with one last goal, I would like to major in Occupational Therapy and minor in Business Administration so once I graduate I can go off to less developed countries like in Latin America to open my own institution for families that don't have the means necessary to take their children, with special needs, to therapy!! Many people may not know what they want to do with their life at this point yet and that is okay but having goals, even if  you do not end up meeting them and decide on doing something else, will help us feel like we have a purpose in life and have the desire to become someone in life!

My Goals

It is important to set goals in life because it's what sets you on a path to what you want to become. On the other hand, you should set a gigantic goal. You should set ideas on what you want to do that are small and aren't like, I want to be an actor. Since this is goals, my goal for this year is to be able to keep my GPA high and work on soccer A LOT. If I stay focused in school and keep up my GPA, I can get a good score on my AP exam and finals. If I stay focused on training and working hard for soccer, I will be fit in league and help improve the team for Frosh/Soph Soccer very much. My all-time goal is to be a professional soccer player. I want to be good and give people and children inspiration to what they can become (Exactly what David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Puyol etc. did for me). My ideas are training and working on touch and shooting and defending in soccer as well as attacking and chemistry with the wonderful team I get to captain and play with.

"Pain is temporary, it may last for a minute, or an hour, or even a year. But ecentually, it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit however, it will last forever" -Lance Armstrong/Eric Thomas.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!” -Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa.

My Goals

My Goals

There are goals that we always say that we will do or say that we will try to accomplish to do. In reality, we just to do the same goals that we did last year and all the years before. Goals are supposed to drive us to do something better or make us be better in paper or in personality, but if we don't even try to accomplish our goals or get to our goals in a different way instead of working hard and studying there is no point of setting a goal if you know that the work will not be the best or even yours. The goals that will be said will be goals that will be worked every day to make me a better person and on paper, but also I will also need help from each one of you which I hope I can get.

My goals are to have mostly As and the least is 2 Bs, able to write better, and reduce procrastination. Last year my grades weren't my best and I know I could've done better. Last year I just gave up on school which I also gave up on my goals. In the end, I had a grade which I didn't think I will receive when I did so much in the school year. So this year I don't want to see that terrible grade (that I do believe is bad) on my report card. The second goal is to write better, as you see from this you can criticize this work then tell me how I could've done better. Finally, the last goal is to not procrastinate because procrastination is what I mostly what I do which I also need to fix so I don't have too much on one night then don't do my best on the assignments, and do other non-related school activities. School may not be the best thing in the world, and may not be able to have the best entertainment it would help me in the long run

Life Goals

Whenever we start something new, we always try to have a goal in mind, to achieve something so that we can have that feeling of satisfaction to be able to know that we are important. I, myself, feel that I always make goals upon goals upon goals to try and accomplish things that are hard. For example, one of my many goals is that I actually use Mrs. Garvin's reading chart, instead of just reading it all the day before the test, so that I can retain the information better. The thing is though, is that I always do the exact opposite of the thing I always say I will do. Instead of following the chart, I just read it the day before the test, like I told myself not to. Even though we make goals to motivate us to do something hard, it is not the goals that need to be the motivators, it is ourselves.
When we make goals it is because we see the perfect us from our dreams, the perfect student, athlete, "band kid", and want ourselves to be like that, which results in us making a goal to be like that impossible image. When we do this we expect ourselves to be motivated to do our goal, to make ourselves better just because we put our mind to making a goal, not because we put our mind to doing what our goal suggests. Not that goals aren't important to make, they are, the just need to be made and put our efforts to attaining it.
One of the goals I have this year is that I wish to stay on task. This is a real problem for me because I am like a dog that keeps seeing a squirrel and running after it, but forgetting that I am supposed to fetch the ball. I paused every other sentence writing this very paragraph, and all of the previous ones. To me, my most important goal is to study. Not study all of my classes, just exclusively AP World (Because I am fairly confident that I can look over the content the day before a test and know it, or not look at it at all). For AP World, if I, as previously stated, use the reading chart and write down my IDs, then I can review the IDs which will trigger my memory and help me remember.  And also if I study for AP World then I also accomplish my other major goal of not getting distracted, so it is a win-win for me.

(Sorry if I sounded long-winded and if it didn't flow well)
Thanks for reading to the end.

My Goals

I believe it is important to set realistic goals in life because this will remind yourself of limits and the capabilities of yourself as an individual. Setting time-sensitive goals also pushes you to strive for greatness during our adolescent years, when we are still learning about the world around us and help gain experiences when reaching for goals.
There are many goals which I intend to complete/strive for this year. As a reader I would like to be able to comprehend many types of author writing styles and find themes I wouldn't be able to find when reading books. As a writer I was always stressed under timed writing so I'd like to improve that, I want also want to create more meaning in my reasons and phrases. One other thing about writing is my penmanship, I try to write neat on important papers but a lot of people think my handwriting is horrific😂. As a thinker I would like to be able to comprehend difficult articles, books, and be able to answer questions that Ms. Colln will throw at me. Goals outside the class are: Getting more healthy, enjoy my life honestly, fun with friends, volunteer, make videos.
Goals involving my future and career, I'd like to become a veterinarian maybe? I just like anything with animals. I am planning to attend CSULB but that might change, ambitions tend to change. In the future I would like to be able to help others, my family, and myself with overcoming obstacles that appear in life, as well as make others feel better. I have these goals because they remind me of why I'm apart of a society and what I can do to help the world function, because everyone's life in this world is precious. Everyone has different goals because we have different interests but some things we all have in common are, ambition, meaningful lives, and Ms. Colln's Middle English dialect. Wait not the last one. Thanks for reading.

My Life Goals

I have always had goals and I think everyone does but the hard part is accomplishing them. Goals for us is like a drive or ambition to keep us going. It's important to set goals for our self so we can have a prediction or an idea of what and where we're trying to eventually get to.
My goals this year is to try to get better grades than last year and to always try to do better. It doesn't necessary mean you have to do bad even if we had a great year there's always room for improvement as I see it. I want to maintain a 4.0 or above GPA. Some things I need to do to achieve this goal is get good scores on my tests which is studying more and to be on time or ahead of my assignments which can cause me a lot of stress if I don't keep everything organized. I know if I stay on track I can accomplish this goal.
Some of my other goals are to be more involved at school and meet new people. In order for me to do this is to change it up and step out of my comfort zone.Another goal is to read more I love reading but never do it and I don't mean as in my teacher making me just reading a book because I want to. I need to learn how to separate school from outside activities. As much as school is important and to me it is; I have to know how to sometimes take a break and enjoy myself as well. Short term goals are important too because it makes you get to a point you want to be and then you began to succeed more and more which makes it end up being one goal just put into sections.
As more of my life long goal is to go to a university and become a nurse. I don't have a particular university I want to attend but as long it has a great nursing program I'm interested. If I stay on the path I am right now it wont be hard to get there.

My Goals

My Goals

It is crucial that students set their own goals so they have something to strive and work for without being on overload so much. If students have their own goals, they work towards their own goal because it urges us to reach higher and work harder. Goals are like a waypoint, it tells you where to get to, without these goals, we don't know what we have to do and therefore we strive at our least unsure of what to do. Reaching your goals also make you happy knowing you hit your own standards and knowing that the work paid off.
My goals this year is to reduce procrastination to the least and achieve a passing grade of an A or B in each class, regardless of Honors or regular. I always manage to have low grades in the beginning of each school year since I slack on homework and time management. Some people in this class are also taking an AP class which is very time consuming, and thus we lose time for other classes. I will try to finish my homework ahead before it's due this year so I have nothing to worry about. Getting a passing grade of an A or B will ensure that I have a good GPA since many of my classes are honors and 3 other band classes which is an easy A, so focusing on academics this year is my priority.
My goal in the future is to attend a 4-year college and major in music. In order to do that, I must first focus on academics and study, and worry about Music later since it is one of my strengths. Academics are the only thing holding me back from having as much fun as I can since it takes time away but is worth it in the end. Focusing on both at the same time will make sure I can reach this goal and be successful.

My Goals

My Goals

This year my goals within the classroom include obtaining a more complex vocabulary, being a quicker reader, and not procrastinating on essays. Also I want to be able to be more creative and not so realistic so I can better comprehend and respond to poems or creative literature, so then I can write better creative literature myself. Outside of English I want to maintain all A's, hopefully above a 4.0 GPA, and I want to keep my job and hopefully get one that better fits my schedule, but if not it's fine, and keep up my candy sales. I'm all about the money. Also I tend to get lazy or procrastinate so I'm really trying to break that habit this year, although I think that's going to be my hardest one to be honest. My last goal for this year is to have a better attendance because I usually am slacking in that department but I've gotten better so hopefully it continues.

My goals for my future education are getting into a 4 year university, graduating of course, and then going to law school to pursue a career in law. I also want to get my Bachelors and Masters degree. before I had no idea what I wanted to do, as far as career wise, but in more recent years I've realized the only area that really interested me is law, somewhat because I'm really good at debating and seeing things from different perspectives to solve problems. Therefore I want to either be a prosecutor or a private investigator, I'm leaning more towards prosecutor because of the money but I know that's not what's going to make me happy in the end so we'll just have to see which one can bring both success and content to the table. These goals are indeed realistic and time-sensitive, and it's important because if we set unrealistic goals it's likely we won't be able to achieve them and if they're not time-sensitive, such as going to Bora Bora ate age 18, then they can stray us from what's really important, disappoint us, and have us wasting out time, money, and effort.

My Goals

It is important that we set realistic goals, so we can get direction on where we want to go. When we set goals it reflects on our innermost desires and helps motivate us for something to strive for.
This year my main goal is to work on my time management skills. With 8 classes last year and this year I constantly seem to stress myself out and procrastinate. Especially because 2 of those classes include band and basketball, which is very hard at the same time. In class, I would like to expand my vocabulary, writhing skills, and to read a bit more. I want my GPA to stay above a 3.5. For athletics, I need to start having more of a positive attitude at practice and start pushing myself to do the best I can every single day. For band, my goal is to get better at sight reading my music.
In the near future, I plan on graduating high school with straight A's and going to a four year university out of state. In the distant future, I know for sure I want to own my own businesses, maybe in the food industry, own a few hotels off the Strip of  Las Vegas, and create the next Disneyland. Those are big dreams that I tend to accomplish to make a difference. The reason why I have those dreams is because I love people, I want to create more excitement in the world, and do something that someone wouldn't normally think of.  First, I want to pick another career to earn enough money to start those businesses, and I'm not sure what yet. For now, I definitely need to focus on enjoying school and to remember that it comes first. Instead of stressing myself out with all of my extra curricular activities.

Goals

In life we all have goals some simpler than others. By choosing a goal that you not only believe in but knowing the steps and having the will to fulfill them make us happier. When our goals are unreasonable we create added stress to our own lives. By being able to manage our time and goals not only are we working towards these goals but but we are happier because we can see the progress we are making.
Some of my goals for this year are to become a more active and avid reader, manage school and my extracurricular activities, and better my writing skills. Each year I begin with pretty much the same goals, however, after a while my motivation begins to dwindle. I guess in its own sense keeping myself motivated is also another goal. Personally I believe that one of our biggest set backs is procrastination. With any goal you need good time management, therefore, it reigns supreme over the other goals we set. In order to achieve the goals I set a I will have to work on both motivation and time management. By doing so I can relieve myself of some of the stress that comes with setting yourself at a higher standard.
One of my long term goals is to become a surgeon. In order to do so I have to work on achieve the goals I have set now because those in one way or another play a role. When you look at a long term goal you should imagine it as smaller goals that are kind of like pieces to the puzzle. So some of the piece on the edge would be to achieve the goals from above, getting good grades, and learning things about this career path. Then some of the inner pieces would be to get into a good four year university, take pre-med courses, and graduating. From there the last pieces to the puzzle would be to complete medical school and find a residency program at a hospital. In the end you are left with a completed puzzle, also known your long time goal. By breaking them up in this matter it becomes manageable.

My Life Goals

This year, my goal academically is to maintain a GPA of 3.7 or above and athletic wise I plan on pushing myself a little bit more everyday.
Academically, I can achieve having a 3.7 GPA or above by keeping up with my assignments in each class and to make sure I manage my time wisely. Last school year I had very poor time management and that caused a plentiful amount of stress, so this year since I have a larger workload, I will manage my time more wisely.  Whether that being, going out with friends less, or maybe even taking time out of my day to write in my planner.  The little things that'll help me during a time of stress, such as: taking 10-20 minute naps after a study session, or eating small portions of healthy snacks, meditating, re-organizing, anything small like that can help me better my time management and stress level for this oncoming year.  To add on to how I can accomplish my academic goals, I can learn to procrastinate less and get the work done and out of the way when I receive the assignment the day of.  Procrastination is also a key reason as to why my stress levels are so high, and why my GPA suffers.
My goals athletically, are to work harder and harder a little bit each day to slowly improve myself and my work ethic on the field.  As being part of the Mayfair Softball team, I find that showing effort and a hardworking attitude are a must when playing for our school. Because not only do you have to have the great, positive mentality, you have to already kind of have the mindset of "Okay, you've made it this far, now keep going until you've made it to the end. Then go even further, because I know for a fact you're more than capable of making it." That's what I've kind of already learned from my first year, last year of being part of the Mayfair Softball family. They push you to the best of your ability to make you a better athlete in general, and that's what I love about the coaches and the program.

In the near future, my goals are to graduate high school with above average grades and to have my letter from Softball in my senior year. Having that letter would let me know that I've made it to the end of my high school softball career, so what now?  When I grow up, I want to be a behavioral psychologist. The way people act and why they do have always sparked an interest in me and I never knew why. I want to go to an Ivy League school, either Columbia or New York University, but having a Masters in Physchology or even a PhD would be a dream come true. The only way I can succeed in any of these goals though, is to start now and make sure I'm keeping up with even the small things in high school.

2018-2019 Goals

This will be my sophomore year at Mayfair and I look to exceed academically, athletically and outside the classroom.
Academically, I want to maintain my 4.0 GPA for a 4th consecutive year.  To accomplish this, I need to be sharp on my studding and to keep up to date on all assignments.  Additionally, I need to consistently work hard in all my classes even if they are easy.  Also, I tell myself that I have the worst grade in the class so that I push myself to work my way back up even though I may have an A in the class.
Athletically, I look to improve as player in the soccer system of Mayfair.  This year I will be on the Frosh Soph team again and it will be my final year before I move up to jv or varsity.  Last year I was a freshman, one of the younger players on the team and so I followed the leadership of the sophomores.  This year I will be a sophomore and I look to be able to lead, a role that I have little experience with yet, I hope to improve on this year.  Also this will be my year to improve my skill, fitness and game IQ before I look to make varsity next year
Finally, I want to make the most of my tenth grade year.  This is my only shot at tenth grade, I do not intend to take it again so I want to make the most of it and make it memorable part of my high school experience.  I look to meet new people, join new clubs and just have fun this year.  I have already gotten to know some of my peers a bit more and I have joined MESA club and CSF club.  I look forward to this year and wish my fellow peers good luck.

Life Goals

It's imperative that people maintain goals, and set a certain bar to strive for, and potentially exceed. These goals are mental motivators, urging both our minds and bodies into attaining success, and reaching for what we desire the most. By giving an end destination, objectives such as getting an A in a math class, or scoring a home run in a game provides further incentive to working hard and putting our best effort forwards. Without realistic goals, we would be aimless, lost in a sea of boredom and repetition within our lives, whereas with goals, we take an initiative, and find the reason behind the madness, and discover why we function they way we do.
For this year in particular, my goal is to time manage, and find the balance between academics, athletics, and a life outside of that realm (including friends, extracurricular, and clubs). It's difficult maintaining that holy trinity, so it's essential that I find the time to handle all that I can. Procrastination can also lead to my frequent stress, and if I'm able to eliminate that from my life this year, I know I would accomplish something that I wouldn't have previously thought is feasible. I would also like to maintain solid A's in both semesters, but mainly, to have a grip on everything in my life, and ensure myself that everything will be okay in the end.
When it comes to education, careers, and all things future oriented, I would like to attend a university in California, and hopefully tackle a major in the medical or engineering field. My main school of choice is UCLA, but I'd hope to attend any UC in general! To have the occupation of a doctor, or a well deserved scientific occupation would be my ultimate end goal, being that I want to help contribute to the world, whether by directly assisting people in need, or through medicine and research. People that are in need must be tended to somehow, and I believe that through these universities, hard work, and dedication, I'd be able to help them in anyway that I can. I'd also prove to myself that I'm capable of handling such a strenuous journey, and see the end result of the effort that I put forth in every choice that I made.

[KC]: Our Very First Blog Post!

Kids,

It's time to blog! Here's what I want you to do:

Step 1: Read my previous post about our goal for the blog and what we should expect it to be.
Step 2: Begin a new post on the following topic: GOALS. *don't forget to give it a title!

  • Why is it important to set realistic, time-sensitive goals in life?
  • What goals do you have for yourself this year? (both as a reader/writer/thinker and outside of English class)
  • What are your goals for the future when it comes to education, careers, etc? Discuss them and why you have those.
Step 3: Go into someone else's post and leave a comment!

REMINDER: This is an open forum that anyone with the link can view. Be mindful of the super personal stuff you might share.

DREAM BIG, young people! *insert cliche motivational quote here*

Make connections between our ideas/discussions and things that are happening in the world. Pose questions to generate a discussion. Respectfully share your ideas and opinions. Be confident in the things that you write and the ideas that you have. Also, be sure you revisit your posts to make sure that you respond back to those who continue your discussion in the comment section.

Let's get this thing going!
